As project 2 is approaching with a focus on animation, I began to recall the work that had previously been done in the game development club UPGRADE, as a part of the Aeiaton team. The artists there had to work on animation cycles for individual characters that would later be added to the game to produce smooth motion. Looking at the files of the already composed animations, I realized that there is a lot of detail that has to done for each character to produce these fluid animations.
This image being the entire cycle of animation for a single character, including moving animations for every angle. Besides this there would also be idle animations and various other cycles needed per unit.
The above is a somewhat complete version of the intended animations, including a laser that shots across the screen. (Although recently the game has undergone redevelopment.)
