“Empty” Paintings

This artist takes classic famous paintings and recreates them without including any people. I find these artworks fascinating because the versions with the people removed have a very eerie and mysterious feeling to them. Since they are such famous paintings, even without any of the human subjects many of these paintings are still easily recognizable, such as “The Last Supper”. In many cases, the backgrounds don’t have much movement but still leave the audience wondering about what people who used to be there had previously done. I really like how the artist chooses leave traces and hints of action, such as blood stains or unfinished paintings.
