Time magazine has published a special issue about Covid-19 with advice, discussions etc. coming from people on the TIME 100 list. For the cover they asked JR, a French artist and photographer, to create a piece. I really like his work because he usually does large scale, public works that draw attention to the people who live in the places where he displays these pieces. For the special issue he pasted a black and white image of an isolated person looking out from their window blinds. I really like how powerful this image becomes when the scale is large and its pasted on an empty street. He says that he wanted to give something to the people who look out of their windows and just see their neighborhoods deserted. It also made me think about creating work for the public at a time like ours when accessibility is an issue.
