Klugseat

I stumbled upon an image of a sofa designed by Ubald Klug, and I found it compelling. The shape and texture is reminiscent of topographic maps and make it feel very geological. The design manages to feel ancient, contemporary and futuristic all at once. Many of Klug’s designs, as I learned, are modular meaning pieces were designed to be taken apart and reassembled, creating new forms when they are rearranged.
