Happy Belated Earth Day!!

on

Unfortunately, to me Earth Day had become a day people use as an excuse to post all the cool places they’ve traveled to on Instagram. However seeing this art project by Olafur Eliasson reminded me that there are still people out there who try to send a meaningful message through Earth Day posts. Here, Eliasson created vibrant images of the earth that are meant to give you an afterimage if you look at them for more than 10 seconds. He would post them on Instagram to give people a new view of the world. It is cool that art can still feel interactive and physical even when it’s virtual. This is also is an example of how public art can translate to a digital platform and still be effective.
