The 17-year-old Pomeranian very likely died from causes unrelated to its positive coronavirus test, a medical source told the Post on March 18.Photo: Facebook

Recently my roommate was panicking because he was worried that his dog might get COVID-19 because he saw on the news that a pomeranian in Hong Kong tested positive for COVID-19. Now a German Shepard has tested positive for Coronavirus. However, vets maintain that dogs cannot get sick from the disease and they likely tested positive because they were in close quarters with their owners, who had the virus. However, if they are in contact with someone with COVID-19, they can potentally transfer it to other humans.
