Music Video Blends Puppetry and Animation

During the past few weeks of class, we’ve dipped our feet in animation and watched a lot of interesting videos that used different techniques. In Coldplay’s music video for the song Daddy, the director combined puppetry, live action, and digital illustration to create a really visually interesting video. The ocean seen throughout the video is actually made of layers of cling film, and the “waves” were made by people tugging at the cling film while the camera rolled.
